Job Title: PLC Controls Engineer
Location: Richmond, TX

Overview:
Honeywell is seeking a PLC Controls Engineer to design, implement, and test PLC-based automation solutions for material handling clients. This role involves hands-on PLC programming, system testing, and electrical schematic design using AutoCAD.

Position:
Contract or Full-time (as applicable) Travel up to 50 60% required

Responsibilities:

• Implement and support automation projects for material handling systems

• Develop and implement PLC code (Allen Bradley preferred) for control systems

• Interpret and program based on AutoCAD electrical layouts and schematics

• Perform internal and onsite testing of PLC prototypes and system changes

• Ensure compliance with development standards and best practices

• Execute all phases of testing: Internal, BUAT, UAT, FAT

• Monitor project timelines and task lists; provide progress updates

• Contribute to and maintain proper turnover documentation

• Participate in team meetings and report technical project status

• Engage in electrical design using AutoCAD Electrical

• Follow electrical design principles and contribute to layout and network designs

• Stay current through training and development in automation technologies

Requirement Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or related technical discipline

• Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, PanelView HMI, and Qtest

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical

• Ability to travel 50 60% of the time

• Strong documentation, reporting, and cross-functional communication skills

Additional Information:

• Candidates must be open to extensive travel for project implementation and testing

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
