The Parts Sales Representative is responsible for obtaining parts and accessories for the service technicians, retail clients and wholesale accounts.

The Parts Sales Representative will assist with inventory by stocking, perpetual inventories, posting lost sales, controlling the accuracy of the parts counts and location.

Essential Duties include the following; however, other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Position is 100% on-site.
  • Maintain up-to-date product and technical knowledge sufficient to effectively communicate with customers, clients, technicians, and service staff.
  • Apply knowledge of vehicle and product to discuss use and features of various parts.
  • Apply ethical selling techniques and comply with all applicable laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures controlling vehicle parts sales and handling.
  • Properly price all parts to the correct pay types.
  • Promptly fill client orders and process computer records and paperwork for quotes, sales and returns.
  • Advise client as to substitution or modification of part when requested part is not available.
  • Promptly notify clients when previously ordered parts arrive.
  • Examine returned parts to determine if parts are defective; exchange part(s) or process refund pursuant with stated company policy.
  • Restock parts as needed to their proper bin location; support the department by proactively identifying and reporting inventory needs and conducting inventory maintenance.
  • Support the company’s efforts to train and cross-train employees.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers and promote inter- and intra-team collaboration and cooperation.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual should possess:

  • High school diploma or equivalent desired.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Sales experience is required.
  • Requires strong communication skills to work most effectively with customers.
  • Excellent follow-through and follow-up skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Able to problem solve and handle a variety of issues.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to follow direction, and able to work independently or as a team.
  • Ability to multi-task projects, establish priorities, work independently and organize effectively.
  • Must be detail orientated and be able to work under pressure.

5+ Years' Experience: Minimum Hourly Pay Rate of $34.00, which can increase up to $41.00/hour based on productivity.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individual will be required to:

  • Must be able to climb flights of stairs, reach and bend down when assisting with stocking parts.
  • It is estimated that handling vehicle parts will constitute approximately 30-40% of the physical demands, which includes lifting 0-50 pounds and occasional lifting of 50 pounds or more.
  • Frequently required to stand for long period of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit for long period of time, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
