Job Description

The client is hiring a Project Engineer to lead marine and heavy civil construction projects in Long Beach. Work on high-profile projects including marine infrastructure, dredging, and waterfront improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily field operations and support superintendents and foremen
• Track production, maintain logs, and report progress to the Project Manager
• Ensure safety and quality compliance (OSHA, MSHA, USACE)
• Conduct hydrographic and topographic surveys, assist with as-built drawings
• Manage scheduling, labor, materials, and equipment
• Travel to out-of-town projects as needed, including occasional weekends

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in marine or heavy civil construction projects
• Valid California driver's license and ability to obtain TWIC
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction document control
• Knowledge of safety standards and quality compliance

Preferred:

• USACE project experience and EM 385-1-1 training
• Hydrographic or topographic surveying experience
• Experience with Hypack or HeavyBid software

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, squat, climb, and work safely on marine sites
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Compensation:

• Base salary: $115,000 to $130,000 USD
• Bonus: up to 10% based on performance
• Work onsite in Long Beach with travel for out-of-town projects
