Position Summary  

We are seeking an early career professional to join our Investments team as an Investment Analyst supporting portfolio analytics and asset-liability management (ALM). The successful candidate will contribute to the management of a diversified general account portfolio, with responsibilities spanning investment analytics, risk management, and balance sheet alignment. This role offers exposure to multiple complex asset classes, insurance company financial dynamics, and visibility through collaboration with sophisticated external asset managers and senior-level internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Analytics

· Support ongoing monitoring of investment portfolios, including performance, exposures, and risk metrics.

· Prepare analytical reports for senior leadership, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.

· Assist in market analytics to support portfolio reviews.

Asset-Liability Management (ALM)

· Contribute to ALM analysis that evaluate the interaction between assets, liabilities, and capital requirements.

· Assist in scenario testing and stress analysis to support balance sheet resilience and statutory/regulatory requirements.

Manager Oversight & Support

· Coordinate with external asset managers, custodians, and internal partners to ensure timely delivery of data and reports.

· Track multiple investment manager updates and ensure alignment with portfolio objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Partner with Finance, Actuarial, and Risk teams to support statutory reporting, regulatory compliance, and capital management.

· Contribute to cross-departmental initiatives related to investment income forecasting and balance sheet strategy.  

Qualifications & Attributes for Success

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field; progress toward CFA is a plus.

· Demonstrated deep interest in investments and capital markets, with intellectual curiosity to learn across asset classes.

· General understanding of insurance balance sheets and how investments support liabilities and capital.

· Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail and ability to interpret large data sets.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

· Strong organization skills, with an ability to manage multiple managers, projects, and priorities in a results-oriented team.

· Proficiency in Excel; experience with programming or statistical tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL) is a plus.
