Job Description

The Cayuga Onondaga BOCES is hiring Instructional Technology Integration Specialist. This position is ideal for an educator who thrives at the intersection of instructional leadership and innovation-supporting educators and students in using technology to transform learning across a region.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid New York State teaching certification.
• Minimum of five years of successful classroom teaching experience.
• Knowledge of NYS standards, best practices in curriculum and instruction and knowledge of adult learning theory.
• Proficient in the use of various technology devices and platforms.

WORK YEAR: Ten-month position with additional summer days, as needed.

REPORTS TO : Director of Instructional Support Services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Collaboration with Districts:

• Consult and collaborate with district leaders to plan professional learning focusing on technology integration that fosters innovation, elevates thinking, and enhances student learning.
• Research and share strategies for using technology to strengthen instruction and engage students in deeper learning.
• Support the development, review, and implementation of district technology plans aligned with instructional goals.

Instructional Technology Coaching and Support:

• Assess the skill level of teachers to provide targeted support for district initiatives.
• Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities that build staff capacity to use technology effectively in support of teaching and learning.
• Model strategies and provide ongoing support, mentoring, and coaching through classroom visitations, individual meetings, and workshops to elevate student thinking and deepen learning through purposeful technology use.

Regional Learning and Continuous Growth:

• Create and deliver regional professional learning opportunities, and foster innovative ways for educators to collaborate, observe classroom modeling, and explore emerging technologies like AI.
• Engage in continuous professional learning to stay at the forefront of educational technology and its impact on teaching and learning across the region.
