Position Summary The
Director of Talent Acquisition will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of FreshDirect’s talent acquisition function, overseeing recruitment for both exempt and non-exempt roles across the organization. This leader will be responsible for building strong, diverse pipelines, optimizing recruiting processes, and ensuring a high-quality, inclusive candidate experience. The Director will partner with senior leadership to align hiring strategies with long-term business goals and drive initiatives that strengthen FreshDirect’s employer brand.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership - Develop and execute a company-wide talent acquisition strategy that supports growth and workforce planning goals.
- Partner with senior leaders and hiring managers to understand current and future talent needs.
- Lead employer branding efforts in collaboration with Marketing to position FreshDirect as an employer of choice.
- Design and implement internship and early career programs to build a sustainable pipeline of future talent.
Operational Excellence - Oversee full-cycle recruitment for all business areas, ensuring an efficient, scalable, and inclusive process.
- Evaluate and optimize ATS and sourcing tools to improve time-to-fill, quality-of-hire, and candidate experience.
- Monitor and report on key hiring metrics (e.g., hires, time-to-fill, cost per hire, budget variances) to drive decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and internal policies.
Relationship Management - Build and maintain strategic relationships with external partners, community organizations, schools, and industry networks to expand sourcing reach.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and hiring teams on recruiting best practices and market trends.
Team Leadership - Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing recruiting team, setting clear expectations and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
- Manage workload distribution and implement processes that drive team productivity and performance.
Education & Qualifications - Minimum 7 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven success in building and executing high-volume and strategic hiring plans.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and recruitment compliance.
- Experience managing or implementing ATS systems and sourcing platforms.
- Data-driven approach with the ability to interpret metrics and present actionable insights to leadership.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.

Salary Range: $120,000 – $160,000
